The 10am service
One of the best things about being part of a church is meeting together to learn about our wonderful God and pray to him.
We meet at 10am every Sunday at Sherford Vale School. We won’t wear old-fashioned outfits or sing dreary hymns, or say lots of strange and archaic words. What we will do is say a few prayers, sing a few upbeat songs and look into the Bible together.
We will also spend time getting to know one another over tea and coffee each week.
For the majority of each Sunday meeting we'll all stay together, but during the talk there will be a children's activity for everyone aged 3-11 in a nearby classroom. Each week we will have session following the Mustard Seeds syllabus, featuring Bible stories, discussion, games and craft activities. All our children's leaders are experienced and fully DBS-checked.
For those under 3 we will have a creche area at the side of the hall with a few toys and books to keep our little ones entertained.
Frequently asked questions...
How long will the meeting be?
We aim for each Sunday meeting to be between 45mins and 1 hour long, with time afterwards for tea and coffee.
Is there a dress code?
No! You can wear whatever you would normally wear on a Sunday.
Do I have to sing and say things out loud?
No! There will be opportunities to join in with songs and prayers, but only if you feel comfortable doing so.
Will there be lots of words I don't understand?
No! When unusual words come up in the Bible we will try our best to explain them clearly, and we will choose our songs and prayers carefully so we are singing and saying things that make sense.
Will it cost money?
No! If you want to donate to the work of Sherford Community Church then we would be glad to talk to you about it, but we won't be passing round a collection plate or anything like that on Sundays.
